We’ve been ‘mucking’ around for the past few months , with what have essentially been test Live Blogs, while building the base software that runs the blabify website. Well, enough of the mucking around, we are now open for business, and ANY registered user can now host a Live Blog on our website or embed it in their own website. See the support page for how to embed a Live Blog in your website.
To help us promote the site, do us a favor by going to www.blabify.com/events/promote , and following the instructions there on how to invite your friends (or any one you know with an email address) to check out this website.
If you do create a Live Blog and you want it to featured on the front page, please send an email to blabify@gmail.com
Thank You and happy Live Blogging

We spent the days after our last Olympics live blog making some improvements to the site. A lot of the changes are not visible, but were made for the site to function more effectively.
We have added a button to help you easily share any event page with your friends , or save it to your facebook, reddit , digg, delicious etc accounts. When you create an event, you can now assign tags (keywords) to the event.
On another note, if you tried to register and did not get an activation email, please check your junk mail or spam folder. It appears as if some email systems mistakenly mark email from this domain as spam

So we have been live blogging the Olympics soccer tournament since the quarter finals, and somehow people keep finding us. During the Nigeria vs Belgium game, we had an audience of just under 200 people. This is about a 20 fold increase over the number of people we had for the Nigeria vs USA live blog (which we ended up not doing cos I overslept).
The final game between Nigeria and Argentina is in about 12 hours, and we anticipate the largest audience ever. Once these Olympics are over, we will be doing a lot of live blogs related to the US presidential elections. All of you are of course welcome to create your own live blogs of events that interest you, and yes that includes your daugher’s first day at school

How many liveblogs have you subscribed to, and ended up with fingers sore from hitting the refresh button a couple of hours later? Ok, that’s overstating it a little bit, but you get the point.
When streaming video is not an option and you need people in remote places to view your event online in real (or near real) time, you can do one of two things:
1. Use regular blog software and have your viewers hit refresh every so often to see if there are new updates OR
2. Write your own software with all the fancy features you need.
We aim to provide a better way. Our website will let you create your very own liveblog with all the fancy features you need in less than 2 minutes.
At the scheduled time, anyone can visit the url you created, sit back and watch as their screens automatically update with uploaded pictures and commentary. Neat , huh?
A definition may be in order here: A live blog is a real time account of events using the web as a medium.
You can think of it as a live broadcast using text and picture updates.
We are still working on some key features, but expect to see a beta version in the weeks to come.
– From the Blabify Team
